Sitting atop a hill overlooking the Potomac River, just off RT 340 on the Maryland side of the Potomac River, the CrossTrails Harpers Ferry Hostel is ideally situated for adventure seekers and history buffs from the DC metro, and mid-atlantic region.
The hostel’s location provides a great home base for paddlers on the Potomac or Shenandoah River, bikers on the C&O Canal, and hikers on the Appalachian Trail.

Hostels have traditionally provided a home away from home for hikers, bikers, and solo travelers. Whether you’re on a simple day trip, or an epic journey, we can provide a memorable adventure while you are away from home.
For those families who have been sheltering in place for the past few months, it is time for an escape from the everyday. We highly recommend camping-out in a hammock, a tent, or simply sleeping under the stars. Unlike public campgrounds, you won’t have to listen to the roar of an RV’s generator all night!
The word “group” has great significance in the hosteling community. Unfortunately, we don’t see very many groups nowadays. However, if you have a small group, less than 12 at a time, we can accommodate you in our outdoor spaces, as long as you wear a mask and social distance….
